A fungus that shows up as circles of extra-green or dead grass, sometimes with mushrooms, as it breaks down buried organic matter.

Look for arcs or full circles in the lawn. Some show as a ring of dead grass, some as a ring of extra dark-green, stimulated grass, and some just pop up mushrooms or puffballs with no effect on the grass itself. Which type you get depends on the fungus and how much thatch or buried debris is in the soil.
Often mistaken for: General dark-green fertilizer streaking or other ring-shaped patch diseases
Shows up any time during the warm season after rain, and is usually most noticeable in summer. Once thatch or buried organic debris is present, it tends to come back year after year.
